I have been involved with the First Tee Program for over 10 years now. This program teaches children life lessons; such as honesty, integrity and sportsmanship through playing golf. This program is nationwide and has developed many young children into community leaders, respected business men/women and college athletes. I have been a tutor with this program since 1998. I try to explain ideas in more than one way. If you can take an idea and look at from multiple angles then you have a better grasp of it. I also find that some explanations, for whatever reason, just don't work for some people and it's necessary to think of a new way to explain something. I started tutoring as a result of my knowledge base and the needs of the young people I worked with. My first tutoring experience was with a young man who was studying pre-calculus. Since then, I have tutored in upper level mathematics, history and social studies, English composition, and basic sciences.
