As a composer and performer, with a Bachelor of Music Degree in Music Theory and Composition, I have always sought to teach music from the bottom up. As a master teacher, with a Master of Science Degree in Music Education, I have worked to develop my own programs and courses of study that teach to any curriculum. I have worked hard over many years to asses the needs of individual students. Firstly, I assess the learning level and learning style of the student over the first week or two. Secondly, I approach the teaching style according to those findings. Thirdly, I assess the progress of the student in relation to the teaching style and make any necessary changes in approach.
