I firmly believe that every child is capable of learning hard concepts, they just have to be taught in a way that is applicable to them. So I first like to get to know the student and try to figure out their learning style and teach them according to how they learn. I enjoy teaching at a high school level or above. I am very hands on. I am a bit of a story teller - rearranging the circumstances of the problem into an issue more easily related to by the student. I am very patient and relaxed - there are very few people who have a lower stress level than I do.
At MSU, I first worked as a Supplemental Instructor and then became a Graduate Assistant (before I even earned my Bachelor's degree) in the School of Business. I also worked in the math department as an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant. I have taught business, accounting and math classes at the college level when instructor was absent. Accounting is by far my strong suit, followed by Excel, Economics and Math, however I do not use high-level math often, although I got A's in everything throughout college.
