My style is to try and present the matertial in a framwork that students can relate to. So if I'm trying to get a financial concepts across to someone I try to think about what this will mean to the student and how they will use it in there work--answer the question of how it relates to the outputs of that individual's job or life. I think I do this because it's how I learn best.
I taught high school religious education for approximately six years. This required relating to students, some of whom were reluctant to be there. This required preperation as well as flexibilty to adjust to what worked and what didn't work. I taught financial analysis for decision making while at Weyerhaeuser Comapany. I have been a Certified Public Accountant working in public accounting since 1987. I know accounting extremely well and have found I can explain incomprehensible subjects to business people, inexperienced accountants in ways that greatly incease thier understanding. I have also taught Native American Culture classes.
I have been helping interns and non accounting people with accounting issues and classes and find that I greatly enjoy it. I have also been explaining how to accounting issues to people whose first language is not English. I have successfully helped students return to college to finish thier accounting. I think I would be good at helping high school or college level kids.

I enjoy working with youth and take pride in assisting them with confidence building as well as real life applications for learning and adjusting. I realize and understand there are different learning styles and try to apply the best teaching style for the maximum benefit of the person I am assisting.
