Issued By - The College of The Ozarks - Work Study Program - Point Lookout, MO. My certification is currently expired in my Elementary Education, but I do hold certification as a Substitute Teacher in the State of MO. I homeschooled two children from preschool through 12th grade graduation and completion of high school. A Little Bit About Me...

While I had to put my studies on hold for close to a decade because of family concerns, it was during that time that I was able to establish a tutoring business based out of Seattle, WA. I gained valuable experience working with children having many unique learning styles. After returning to school, I earned my degree in Political Science. During my course of study, I learned exceptional grammatical and writing skills due to the numerous papers regard spanning many topics. A Little Bit About Me...

My summary of experience is that as a mother and big sister I have had all types of situations presented before me,and I have had to problem solve quickly while considering the choices that I may have make may not be pleasant but choices that were not made without thinking of how the choice may affect others. While earning my BA I have learned about several types of adult and children behaviors, from mental development to disabilities. I had a home day care ,and really enjoyed challenging and watching babies grow into toddlers and on to preschool.I'm very happy and proud when a child sees me out and about and recognizes me as not just their babysitter, but as their teacher and friend.

I love working with children, and over my many years of being in school I have witnessed all types of teaching styles. When I began teaching myself, I developed a style that allows the children to think for themselves in order to gain academic success. My goals are to provide the student with the critical thinking skills necessary to solve problems and reach their true potential.

I have worked with many different types of learners so it is not difficult for me to pinpoint what learning styles they have. As a teacher, it is my job to communicate effectively and conform to a student's unique qualities in achieving academic successes.
I enjoy every aspect of teaching. I began in 1987 as a teacher's aide in Georgia. I was later able to return to college to complete my degree in Elementary Education. I have worked as a preschool teacher, elementary teacher, middle school and high school teacher, and I have tutored in Reading, Math, and Science. Much of my methods are based on what I have experienced through the years.
