I enjoy teaching and working with children and realize that each child is a unique individual with a different learning style. I tailor my methodology to each student and I strive to make a positive difference and impact on all of my students.
As a Master's Degree graduate, I was very driven to succeed in the classroom across a variety of disciplines. I have an undergraduate degree in Psychology and have private tutored individuals across a variety of ages/backgrounds/abilities/disciplines. As a student at Georgetown College, majoring in El. Ed., I student taught in the 1st grade. My supervising teacher said I excelled in reading, and should pursue that area. I have taught 1st-4th grades, and tutored in elementary. I also minored in piano. I have given private piano lessons and done one-on-one tutoring with children and adults. I have a B.A. degree,a minor in Sociology and piano. I have many years of volunteering with children and adults. I enjoy working with children and beginners in both areas. I really like one on one teaching and enjoy seeing the progress the student makes. I also have experience in administrative work, and am good at editing and grammar. I love children of all ages. I am very patient and laid back. I am kind, and considerate of others. My goal would be to help the child learn and understand, while making the experience a fun and rewarding one. I believe everyone has the ability to do whatever they strive for. I had a teacher in my youth that made such a huge impact in my life, and I have always wanted to repay that favor to other children. I strongly believe that one good teacher can make all the difference in a child's academic career.
I have always been driven to achieve a high level of excellence in everything I do. As a college student, I tutored many of my friends and peers for free. I have tutored several children since graduating college for free as well, and have always enjoyed helping others learn and understand new things.
