Creative Writing is one of my top subjects! My career as a librarian and my experience as a parent provided many opportunities for me to use creative writing skills to write in many areas- including poetry (including embroidering original poetry in wall hangings!)and using artistic techniques to inspire imagination with children in developing their writing skills.

After six years of social work experience as a caseworker for Westchester County Department of Social Services where I worked extensively with families and children with special needs, I returned to college to receive my Master's degree in Library and Information Science. In 1978 I started my librarian career at the New York State Library, as a reference librarian specializing in the humanities, social sciences and legal research. I soon became coordinator of staff training (for a staff of over 200), both organizing and teaching classes in many subjects, and was liason with the New York State Data Center and Census Bureau. I am a twenty eighty year old graduate of the University at Albany where I received my Bachelors in English Lit. in 2011. I have no previous teaching or tutoring experience but that does not mean I lack the knowledge or skill necessary to help one learn and grow. I am an avid reader and aspiring writer and try to put thought to paper every day.

Because I enjoy and see the wonder in science and I like to show that to students. If they see a reason to want the knowledge, and see how it can expand their horizons, then they will be more open to learning. A common problem with individuals needing tutoring is that they sometimes do not think they have the "smarts" to learn the subject. My first objective is to show them they have the "stuff" to get it!
