My comments on tutoring American History : My teacher training focused on U.S./American History. I have tutored middle school students, Regents students and AP students in U.S. History.

Students being tutored one-on-one deserve lessons customized to their learning style. My sessions often incorporate some writing and topic discussion along with activities tailored to the student's interests, skill development needs and preferences.

Believe in yourself, and you are half-way there!

My teaching style depends on the student. I am comfortable with trying different study methods in order to figure out why my student is having trouble with a particular subject.
I have a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. I love being able to help students feel comfortable with the material they are studying. I have tutored numerous times throughout college, and would like to get back into tutoring students because I find it to be rewarding. I have been a teacher for the last fifteen years. I teach social studies, but my specialization is teaching argumentative (college level) writing.I have done plenty of SAT prep and tutoring for students at the high school and college level. My style of education is to teach by modeling. Students need to see things in a step-by-step format with instructions, followed by an immediate example. I also provide sample argumentative essays for students who learn by seeing a complete model. Structured yet creative Reading Specialist.

I received my bachelor degree in elementary education. After having my two daughters, I went to graduate school and achieved a masters degree as a Reading Specialist.
