As an undergraduate at NYU, I earned that extra spending money by tutoring Latin. As my customer base grew, I branched out into mathematics and general study skills. After college I went to Europe to earn an MA in Linguistics. Upon return, I immediately began a PhD program, and I used my previous experience in a number of side jobs teaching English as a second language. Over the past 4 years I have tutored several individuals in English focusing mostly on grammar and writing skills. Several of my students have gone on to graduate degrees at Ivy League institutions such as Columbia and Yale Universities.

Being a mother of three adult children and a new grandmother, I adore children. Teaching Sunday School over many years has also brought me great joy. I believe I have a natural ability to work with students of all ages. Tutoring and being able to help students understand certain topics is very rewarding for me. I truly enjoy doing helping others. My teaching style is somewhat laid-back, but students know that I expect them to learn to their fullest potential.
