I taught first and third grade for 6 years at the Saw Mill Rd. elementary school in North Bellmore, NY. I taught summer school for one summer in the Title I program at Chestnut St. School in West Hempstead. I taught adult education (real estate course) in West Hempstead. I was a substitute teacher in the West Hempstead school district for 5 years.
I use word games, flash cards and drill. I love working with the little ones as they are enthusiastic and show the most progress. Some youngsters need more visual stimulation. Games are a great motivator, as the children are learning without feeling that they are doing school work.

My teaching style is relaxed, but focused. I believe all children can be natural learners, especially when they find something that interests them. Patience is the key with children. Every child has their own pace and learning style. Some are very visual learners while others need to be able to be more hands-on. It is very rewarding helping someone succeed.
