I taught at Brevard High School for 4 years as a Computer Engineering and Networking instructor. I am currently working part time as the Computer Lab Instuctor/IT Tech Support contact at Immaculata Catholic School in Hendersonville, NC. I am looking for part time work to supplement my hours at Immaculata. I also have many years of one on one teaching and training with students, workers, administration, and management. In other words, I believe I can work with various levels of understanding.
I believe that every day offers the opportunity to either learn or teach or both. There is no situation where there is not something to be gained, or shared. I believe every child is different. I have worked at summer camps for children ages 8-16 throughout my entire life, and love making a difference in a child's life. I am very patient and have a positive attitude. What I have discovered about myself is that I learn differently from other people. I am the kind of person who prefers to set aside that assembly instruction manual and put together that Christmas toy by laying out the pieces in an orderly fashion. There is so much pleasure in problem solving. I learn by asking myself questions. I have little patience for mundane drills and memorization if they can be avoided. Each child is different. It is meaningless to say that a child is intelligent. There are many kinds of intelligences. Some children are more intelligent in memorization. Others are intelligent in solving problems. It is best to discover the child's strengths and weaknesses and adapt a program to each and every child.
