Ready to love learning

I currently work as a substitute teacher at Riverside Military Academy. I've worked with elementary children and teenagers extensively. My most recent position serves twenty and thirty somethings in their personal and spiritual formation. I have published my writing, acted on stage, spoken before thousands and mentored dozens. My personal intent is to explore life, discover new things, tackle hard challenges and inspire others to do the same. I believe in the value of the individual and don't believe one-size-fits-all.
Adaptive. I have a background in experiential education and believe that the method is not as important as the end result of having assimilated, understood, and taught back the information. I am a native Russian speaker and I hold a teaching degree from Russia with extensive courses in linguistics, philosophy, political ans social science and mathematics. I hold an MBA degree from Georgia State University. I pursued several opportunities to tutor undergraduate students in various subjects including statistics, finance, sociology and political science while obtaining my masters degree. My goal is to provide the best education possible. I lecture to larger groups, but make use of many specific examples to bring life to the topics being discussed. I encourage class participation as a great way for students to really grasp the subject, but only in a manner that is comfortable for them. Teaching to small groups is almost more enjoyable than a classroom setting. The informality of a small group enables me to really connect with each student. A Little Bit About Me...

Education is of utmost importance to me, and I believe that all children can learn, but some lack the study skills necessary to succeed in school. While in pursuit of my psychology major at Converse College, I attended various classes and seminars on learning styles.
