A Little Bit About Me...

I have loved working with children since I was a teenager. Especially with my experience with children with special needs, I believe all children can learn and I want to help all children have academic success. I firmly believe that all children can meet their potential if they are given the appropriate instruction and a positive environment. I strive to make a difference in every child's life that I work with.
I have always been interested in teaching others, in particular, teaching children with special needs. The majority of my experience teaching is teaching children with special needs including many children with autism. One of the first graduates of a dual degree program from Lesley College(www.lesley.edu),I received a BS/MEd in Early Childhood Education specializing in Early Intervention in 1999. Beginning in June of 1999, I raised my three children full-time. During that time, I worked part-time as a Therapeutic Mentor for PSC of Maine(www.provcorp.com). PSC is a behavioral health agency that serves at-risk school-aged children and their families. Soon after arriving in NC in 2008, I obtained my Birth-K teaching lisence and, in 2009, began teaching full-time for the More-at-Four Pre-K program(www.darecountyschoolsonline). I am returning to Maine with my family in July of 2011, as my husband is retiring from the USCG after 20 years of service.
