I currently teach children and adults a variety of classes including painting, drawing, mosaic making, printmaking, fiber arts and collage. I believe that everyone is an artist and that everyone needs creativity of some sort in their life to create balance. By making art, I believe that other areas of academics improve by exercising the right brain as well as the left brain. All too often creative fields are tossed to the side , and schools focus on state testing...I firmly believe that art and creative fields in general are " sit-ups" for the brain and create a better balanced healthy human being...of any age or ability. Teaching is not for everyone, but I knew it was for me when I started student teaching and felt the adrenaline rush of 25 eyes staring up at me for guidance.
