I have a BA in Bible/English and 40 graduate hours in English education. Once my children were school aged I began teaching kindergarten. I was a substitute teacher for many years on the elementary and secondary levels. In 1997 I went back to work full-time as a special education teacher in a Christian school. I taught reading, English grammar and composition (grades 3-11), study skills, English, American, and world literature, and one year of geography. I have been instructed in the Wilson method of teaching reading and find it really helps students who are dyslexic or having problems learning to read. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Clemson University in May of 2008 with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education.
