I've been doing sign language for 18 years, I have a brother and sister who are deaf and thats how I became skilled. I enjoy doing sign language and tutoring people who are willing to learn it. I've taught other family members,friends,even students from school. Whenever someone notices me doing sign language they always come near me and ask me to teach them. I sign very fluently, many people think I am deaf because they see how fast I sign. I am always willing to meet new people and share my skills with them. Its always fun to learn new things.

A Little Bit About Me...

I began working as a Water Safety Instructor when I was 16 and taught swimming to people age 3 to age 76. I worked as a Teacher's Assistant at West Virginia university and taught my own section of a one credit course required of all freshmen students while working on a BA in English with a concentration in Creative Writing. While working on my MA in English Literature with a Certificate in Folklore at George Mason university, I worked as a substitute teacher and then was hired as a full time middle school English teacher. Since I was a child in elementary school, I have driven to achieve educational excellence for myself and to help and encourage those in my community to achieve the same. As a high school student, I tutored elementary aged kids and when I went on to college I was the director of an after school tutoring program sponsored by the Nashville Public Library. I was later employed by a private tutoring company called Club-Z tutoring.
