After earning my Bachelors degree in Education in 1988 I taught GED,ESL,ABE, and advised law students while running the library. I am a life long learner and have taught in prisons,(state and federal)(1988,1997-1999), public schools(1988-2007),private (1992-1998), and home schooled my own son (1992-2000). I have been certified to teach in 6 different states and taught Internationally at a private boarding school(2007-2009). I have a wide variety of experience and an innate desire to learn more about the world around me. I began my undergraduate degree in Political Science, but after taking a Biology course in California, became rather excited about the sciences. I have worked in a variety of laboratory settings, as well as in the field, applying the science that I have learned to real life situations and truly gaining a better understanding of the dynamic nature of the sciences. I am a pre-medical student at UAA who has a BA in Music Education. I spent a year teaching in Metlakatla, AK before moving up to Anchorage to continue my education in science and math. I am currently taking Biology, Chemistry and Calculus and will be continuing on with Physics and advanced level Chemistry classes. I have tutored Algebra while in college as a music education major. I care very much about helping students succeed and be able to move on to a higher level of learning.
