I believe I have a good mental connection with children. Teaching Math is not just about solving problems, using specific methods, equations & formulas that the student has to memorize, and then will forget after a couple days. It's about understanding the problems, it's about knowing where the problem is, and how to solve it using basic Math knowledge and some axioms, step by step, even reinventing the answer, if possible. Teaching Spanish is a lot different, its more methodical, I use some mnemonic "tricks" for the kids & adults to remember the important words & translations.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have taught children how to sail for about 10 years now. These children range in groups of 5-15 and ages 5 to adult. This requires not only instruction, but First Aid and CPR certifications and safety procedures. I also am now a Spanish professor at a local community college, teaching a Medical Spanish class to nursing students.

I love working with children because the impact that you can have on their lives can make such a significant difference in determining their futures. Every child learns differently and unfortunately not every child’s learning needs can be met in the classroom environment.
