A Little Bit About Me...

I have a master's degree in English plus 21 hours. I taught high school English for 21 years. I now teach online and tutor at the Boys and Girls Club. I have expertise in writing, literature, and grammar. When I was an English teacher I taught English 7 - 12. During those years I taught a total of 21 Shakespearean plays to my five classes. I taught middle school English, American Literature, English Literature, and Advanced Placement courses. I used to teach ACT and SAT prep at Sylvan Learning Center.
I love teaching and kids. I always separate the behavior from the child. The little kids that I tutor at the Boys and Girls Club love me! I am just really good at what I do. As a graduate from the University of San Diego with a Bachelor of Arts in sociology I have gained knowledge and expertise in communicating with people, presenting information, and expressing myself in papers, essays and reports. Following the completion of my degree I had the opportunity to become a baseball coach where I fully utilized my communication skills in my attempt to enlighten the players.
I enjoy working with children and believe I have the qualites such as patience, perseverance, and desire to help all types of students succeed. I believe with guidance and a positive attitude children are able to accomplish what they set out to accomplish.
