A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy teaching students how they learn. It is very important that students know their learning style. My goal is to help them learn how they best retain information. I believe that if a student is able to utilize all the senses that allow them to remember the information that they have received, it will build their confidence in the classroom and as they pursue higher education.
As a student at Kansas State University, I have learned the importance of the pursuit of higher education. I have earned a BS in Psychology, an MS in Marriage and Family Therapy, and will pursue a PhD in Family Life Education and Consultation starting during the 2009-2010 school year. I have written a lot of essays and read numerous research papers. For over a year and a half, I have tutored students in English, psychology, mathematics and sciences.

Firstly, I believe all children can meet their potential when given appropriate surroundings and clear expectations of the classroom "culture" as deemed by the instructor, based on mutual respect, and unconditional acceptance of all presentations of abilities: in short, always being available to help all children find academic success. I strive to make a difference in all my student's lives, remembering these tenents of acceptance and consistency.
I was awarded a BA, Social Sciences, in December, 2000.
