A Little Bit About Me...

My B.A. is in History and Social Behavioral Science. This encompasses Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Economics and Political Science. After graduating second in my class with a 3.9 GPA, I started working for the Art Institute of Chicago. During the last five years, I have worked with children of all ages and at all developmental levels. I also have been responsible for grading coursework in all subjects in the classroom. In addition I have developed lesson plans for small groups. I tutored college level students in Spanish as part of my work study. I have two kids and I understand how kids can sometimes struggle in school. I love to simplify the subjects to them. I also work on self confidence issues. A lot of kids struggle because the lack of confidence. I work closely with kids and make them feel comfortable so they can response better. I believe in repetitions. The more the kids can go over the problem the more confidence and knowledgeable they will be. A Little Bit About Me...

I graduated from Illinois State University in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology, and a friend recommended me for an assistant job within a special education cooperative. I accepted the position and continued doing this for five years. The time I spent doing this career is what ultimately made me realize my love for teaching children. During the first couple of semesters at Illinois State, I was able to substitute part-time, which was also a great experience since it allowed me to work in a variety of different classrooms and to teach diverse groups of children.
