I love teaching. I earned my BA before I was old enough to vote. While my classmates were in his/her senior year, I was teaching. Eventually I earned my M.Ed. in Reading, then started School Administration and Adult Education. Majoring in communications in college exposed me to a variety of literature. I took classes in English, script writing, and literature. I also learned about vocal production and public speaking. As I earned a Master of Arts in the dramatic performance field, I taught freshman students a basic speech course for two years. I teach each person on an individual level. There are several reasons behind this. Some of them are: people have different strengths and weaknesses, people learn at quicker/slower rates than others, some individuals are more adept at one subject matter than another, and the motivation of the individual varies greatly from person to person. I try to teach by example. I also believe in constructive criticism and use positive reinforcement. I held this position for two years along with a summer position tutoring Algebra and French with HEC Upward Bound, which service at-risk youth.
