I will be graduating from the University of New Hampshire with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in May 2010. I also have a minor in teaching and will continue in the teaching field through a Masters Degree program at UNH this coming fall. I have some experience tutoring students. In the spring of 2008 I was involved in a program called Seacoast Reads through the University of New Hampshire. In the program I tutored a second grade student in reading. As an undergraduate, my focus for studies in English were both Critical Literary Analysis and Creative Writing. Analytical writing was stressed heavily, giving me the ability to interpret a text based on intrinsic value. The creative tract allowed me to experiment with my own abilities while keeping in mind strategies implemented by others I have read and studied. A requirement for all English majors at the university was to have intermediate skills in a foreign language.
