I have participated in many study groups where I actively contribute information on the topic of interest; there we help each other and teach each other. Also, I'm the oldest sibling of four, I have had many years of helping out with homework and tutoring in reading, writing and math. Reading is one of my top subjects! I hold a Masters in Literacy from NC State University. Currently I am a National Board Certified Teacher in Literacy and will hold this certification until 2019. My NC Teaching License cover Language Arts, Social Studies, Reading K-12, and Elementary Education. I have taught reading from K to 12 and adult reading at the college level. My career has been wide and varied from teaching EC in the elementary school to suppervising graduate students at UNC-Chapel Hill in the Professional Development School.

Teacher with gentle touch - Very good at explaining new subj

I try to find the teaching style that is going to work for the student. Are they visual? Do they need to touch to learn? Finding out how to teach them and then helping them learn skills for independent study are just as important as the material.
