Children are amazing! I have been around children of all ages for most of my life due to a large family. Every child has an opportunity to be the next Albert Einstein however I feel that it is the lack of understanding on the teachers behalf on how to teach to the different needs of the children that keeps the children from learning all that they could. Every person learns differently and I feel that I have the ability to help the children learn at their own pace and relate the material to them so they can better understand. Though some children can be difficult to teach I feel that I am very patient and endearing and have the ability to work with all different types of children to help them succeed and increase their knowledge.

I always try to be very patient and supportive when I'm tutoring. I am a strong believer in the Socratic method of teaching, which from my understanding, means asking the student questions regarding what they already know about a concept in order to customize the lesson and/or "lead" them to the answer. I also try to use analogies and real life examples that are tailored according to the interests of my student. For example, if my student is interested in sports, then I try to use sports analogies and examples to describe difficult concepts. If my student is interested in science, then I use science analogies and examples, etc. I also try to break down complex concepts into smaller "pieces" so that I can help my student analyze and understand the concept one piece at a time.
