I love watching and learning from children. I believe that learning is closely related to confidence. Although I have never formally taught in a classroom on my own, I did assist in teaching a few of the classes I took during my first degree schoolwork while working toward my Bachelor Degree in Accounting. I assisted other classmates who didn't seem to catch on to the material as quickly as I did. Given that one of the subjects was government accounting, which is completely different from what we were used to learning, I embraced the challenge of helping others as well as bettering my own understanding of the material. Classroom discussions aren't very interesting if you've only got 1 or 2 people, out of 20, who know what you are talking about. Repetition is an excellent way to retain knowledge, which it was, and still is today.

My early teaching and learning style was to do as many problems that were thrown at me in class or the text. I learned quickly that you need to understand the problem in order to solve problems that aren't set up for you.
