I was an in-school suspension teacher for two years at Durand High and Middle School, helping students get caught up on their pre-algebra, social studies, science, English and Spanish homework. Previously to becoming a teacher I worked in industry as a project manager or assistant for different companies, using Spanish occasionally. I student taught in 2004 at Hononegah HS, one semester at Auburn High School before being hired at Durand High School. I taught there for four years and took a job in 2008 at Christian Life High School where I am currently employed during the school year. I have been attending Northern Illinois University for the past 3 years and so far have had a great experience. I am double majoring in Spanish and geography and have had good success in both subject areas with a cumulative GPA of 3.95. They are both interests of mine and I have definitely improved during my time at NIU. I think I am qualified to share what I've learned with others who need help in either area and really enjoy working with people. I think teaching style should depend on the student.
