I am good at both Traditional and Simplified Chinese Characters. There are hundreds of dialects in China. I can speak mandarin well with no accent. Many years lived in both cultures, I’m well developed a cross-cultural Perspectives so I can help the students to see these two big group with deeper understanding. I was barely 17 when I founded a one room school in the remote mountains of Hainan Island where I taught all subjects and all grades. Thus began my love of teaching. As the Cultural Revolution waned, I returned to the mainland and continued teaching while I finished high school on my own and earned a BS in teaching Chemistry. My career progressed through high school, community college until retirement teaching Organic Chemistry at the University of Guangzhou. In general, for math I believe teaching step by step in systematic way is helpful for students to grab the concepts. Then help students to relate the concepts is also important.
