A Little Bit About Me...

I LOVE teaching. I enjoy working with students and helping them see something new or understand a concept they are studying in class. Spanish and teaching are my passions. I think teaching - AND learning - should be fun, clear, concise and comprehensible.
I have taught Spanish and English in the high school setting since 1996. I have also taught ESL/ ESOL at homes, in schools, and for private organizations during that time and have had students from ages 6 - 66 from many different countries and at a variety of knowledge levels. I have taught Spanish at the middle school level as well.

A Little Bit About Me...

While working with an adult native Spanish speaker to improve her English was certainly rewarding, my desire has always been to work with children or adolescents, as I feel that they are more amenable to an educational program and have a greater learning capacity when given the proper opportunities. My teaching style is one of constant progression, in which the student's strengths and weaknesses are weighed and an appropriate lesson plan formed based on his/her abilities. This lesson plan can be subject to change based upon rapid progression or extended difficulties in a subject, and I also take into account each student’s distinct learning style. Education should be a process in which a pupil is made to not only regurgitate facts but also to become motivated through active learning and discovery.
