Through my years of tutoring I have learned there is no single teaching method that works for every student, but every student can be successful if you personalize your teaching method for them. Whether they need visualizations, analogies, straightforwardness, etc, I find what works for my tutees and build on it. My students’ successes make me proud and I strive to give my best to them.
I am a recent graduate from Johns Hopkins University where I majored in mathematics with a concentration in chemistry. I prefer a one on one teaching program and encourage questions from my students to try to follow their needs rather than an arbitrary program of lectures. I encourage my lecture students to read the material before to make the lecture more understandable and allow them to use questioning to enlarge their understanding.

A Little Bit About Me...

I try to make learning fun and relate it to things that people experience in the outside world. It's so satisfying to 'see the light bulb turn on' when they are shown, for example, how a pinecone represents the Fibonacci series, or a fern a fractal.
My formal education includes a B.S. degree in Chemistry and an M.S. in Chemical Engineering both from Purdue University. I enjoy teaching and took the opportunity to serve as a Chemistry T.A. A Little Bit About Me...

All children have the ability to learn given the opportunity. I want to give them that opportunity by figuring out ways to convey my lesson to all my students. This task could be accomplished by trying a number of strategies, including the arts and music. Students should also be kept interested in the subject matter.
During my undergraduate years, I started tutoring at the various tutoring centers on campus. I tutored science, mathematics, French, Spanish and Italian. That experience sparked my interest in teaching. At the end of my undergraduate studies, I applied and received the teaching opportunity program scholarship. In the last two years, I have worked as the dean of discipline in charge of maintaining a safe learning environment for over five hundred students.
