I just graduated high school, and I was a really good student. I never failed any classes at all. I have taken advanced classes since I started middle school.Despite moving about three times, I always kept my school grade up no matter what. Tutoring people is a good way to help and give back to the community. I want to try to help others further their education.

A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style is perhaps not as Socratic as I would prefer. I first elucidate the principles being considered, and then use a practical means to illustrate and work with that principle. I like to have the student learn to derive what is being taught for themselves. That way the material will stay with them. Grounding the material being learned in some real-life experience makes knowledge meaningful and useful. That is what I endeavor to achieve.
While pursuing my Master's degree, I taught several sections on Civil Engineering principles. I also held office hours to tutor students in any other classwork where they were in need of assistance. Subjects ranges from physics to structural mechanics to hydrology to fluid mechanics.

I enjoy helping students succeed and have a passion for science. My goal for each student is to integrate the teaching of study skills into the material as I see can benefit them, to assist with homework as needed, and to review any material which is difficult for the student. I typically preview the material to be covered in class and give the student the option of occasional mini lectures to supplement the classroom instruction.

I have experience tutoring AP Chemistry and I worked as a university teacher’s assistant for courses in physical science as well as microbiology. With a degree in biochemistry, I have taken courses in general chemistry, organic chemistry, analytical chemistry, biochemistry, statisti ... read more

I began tutoring during my senior year of high school as a favor for a family friend. I soon realized the demand for private tutoring services and began taking it more seriously. While attaining my Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry, I would frequently tutor friends who needed extra assistance. Years of laboratory experience allowed me to gain an understanding of scientific writing styles, and to expand my writing and researching techniques. After completing my university studies, I began tutoring many students from my local high in various math topics.
My teaching style can be described as casual and comfortable. Students who are having problems understanding certain concepts are better able to grasp difficult ideas when they feel they are in a comfortable environment where they are free to ask questions and discuss their problems openly. My goal is to be informative ... read more

More About This Tutor...

I'm a senior at Fresno State, soon I will have a B.A. in History, which certifies my ability to research, analyze, and write proficiently. Besides having attained writing skills and expertise in the Social Sciences, I have continually improved my knowledge in several academic fields out of my own initiative; I have honed my skills in Spanish Language and Literature, Englih Literature, math (geometry and algebra) and science (physics, human physiology, and biology). In the past I have tutored these subjects for five years.
I have known that teaching is my calling since I was a Freshman in high school. Learning how everything works has always facinated me and sharing that has been equally rewarding. I believe that learning can be fun when it is relevant and interactive. Students have to be given a vested interest in the learning process, asked questions. An environment of trust ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

I love the learning process and I find great joy in sharing my knowledge with others. My general approach to teaching is by presenting the material in a way that reaches all modes of learning. To accomplish this I begin by explaining the material to reach the auditory development. Then I work through some examples to connect with the visual learning process. Then after the initial preparation, the student will use the learned tools to work through problems. This hands on experience will enable the kinetic learning process and further develop the skills to master the subject.
I have acquired extensive experience of the learning process from my time spent in my university studies as a student and tutor. I earned a bachelor of science degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Mathematics from the University of California San Diego. I have also completed all graduate course work ... read more
