A Little Bit About Me...

I like to break things down into baby steps. However, my teaching style will change according to how each student learns the easiest.
I am hoping to tutor students from k-8th grade because I know I have more than enough qualification to help them succeed. Plus, I have worked as a bible studies and piano teacher at my church with students in that range. I also have enough tutoring and academic experience to be able to tutor these students. For ~3 years I was a tutor for students learning English as a second language (for I speak English and Spanish) at Reedley College. I helped them with basic reading, writing, pronunciation, grammar, etc., much like what students within k-8th grade learn. I have been a tutor for over four years now. I work with all ages, at Sullivan Learning Company I work with K-8th, at Clovis High School I worked with high school students and I have done Spanish tutoring on my own with adults. I also teach Sunday school so I am accustomed of working with both individuals and big groups.

While earning my MA in English at California State University, Fresno, I spent two exciting years teaching beginning college writing. I chose to teach the class for students who did not pass the entrance exam for Fresno State because I enjoyed working with the diverse, and primarily ESL, students who populated these classes. A Little Bit About Me...

I have been an educator for over 10 years. I have taught elementary for 5 years, high school for 2 years, tutored for 3 years and am currently working as a substitute teacher/tutor. During this time I have taught English, Science, Reading , Language Arts, History, Greek, Hebrew, Spanish, and Math. I currently tutor Math, Reading and English for students from Elementary to High School. I have tutored Algebra, Geometry and Pre-Algebra. My area of education and experience is working with students who are difficult learners, ADD, English is Second Language or struggling with a particular subject and helping them to reach their goals.
I believe all students can be successful given the right tools and resources. It is my job as a tutor to facilitate this success by developing techniques and strategies to meet the needs of the students learning style and goals.
