Once while subbing, I entered a classroom where the students had been allowed to watch Jerry Springer on TV for the last two weeks. I couldn't let this continue, but I saw how emotional the class was about the show. I encouraged them to write their own talk show and told them we would perform it the next day. I find that connecting student's interest with the subject matter to be learned is the best way to teach.
After completing my undergraduate degree in English Literature at Florida State University, I worked as a substitute teacher in Hillsborough County for two years. In 2009, I completed my Master's Degree in Communication at University of South Florida while simultaneously employed at the Department of Special Education. My comments on tutoring Shakespeare : B.A. and M.A. in English. Taught Shakespeare to high school students and adults. Extensive tutoring experience with Shakespeare and other early modern (Medieval-Renaissance) English writers.

I believe that all students can and will achieve academic success given appropriate instruction; i.e., instruction that is differentiated according to students' specific needs, learning styles, interests, and personal goals. I was an elementary education major for 2.5 years before following my specific passion to writing and literature in my Junior year to finish up school. My teaching style is conversational and cooperative. Sitting across a desk or table from a student, I make suggestions and ask for feedback. Then we go into a demonstration, preferably by the student according to my direction. When necessary, I will do the demonstration first, and then do a "walk-through" with the student doing the work.
My experience is mostly as a teacher, coach and mentor of college-age people desiring employment in the advertising business.
