Encouraging & Patient Elementary Tutor

I have grown up around kids my whole life. I am the oldest of four kids and my mom has a day-care in her home. I always thought I wanted to be a singer until I decided my junior year in high school I need to pick a more stable job. I spent 6 years in first grade teaching all areas including math, science, reading, phonics, and vocabulary. I love tutoring, as it helps me keep up-to-date with the material, and I enjoy seeing someone finally grasp a concept they had struggled with previously. I typically help a student by example, if applicable. In math courses, I find that working through problems with the student is best. For science courses, going over concepts in the chapters before doing problems works best. I also help the student take better notes in class and take better notes when reading the chapter.
