My comments on tutoring Grammar : As a teacher, writer, and translator, I must always use perfect grammar for my projects. Some of this can be tricky, but I can teach it to you or your kids in a way that makes it easy to understand so that it will stick in your brain(s)!

After graduating from Purdue University with a degree in Business Management/Marketing, I set out for Milan, Italy and immediately found work teaching English and Business English there. I taught all ages (from 6 to 60), both individual lessons within the homes of the students or at my home, or individual and group lessons within big companies. One of my biggest clients was UPS Italia where I sometimes taught for seven to eight hours a day. After doing this for seven years, I found a job within a publishing house based in Milan. I eventually became the International Sales Manager there, and I still work for this company on a freelance basis doing translations and sales. I currently work from home as a writer, translator, and tutor.
It depends on the subjects I'm teaching and the needs of the students.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have a Bachelors in English from Dominican University. I began A Plus Master Tutoring Center over 4 years ago and was teaching in my home. Now we have expanded to a center in Oak Park and we tutor all ages, from Pre-K to adults. Our subjects range from phonics to algebra. Our teaching styles vary from a 3:1 ratio, which would include up to three students and one tutor, or a 1:1 ratio which would be a private session with a student and a tutor. I am not young enough to know everything

I agree with the concept that each person learns a bit differently, and even more so that as a tutor, I should try and find the most effective style for my tutee. My academic career also taught me the importance of setting time limits for each action item; and switching tasks to keep the mind sharp.
