Each child learns in different ways, and as a Tudor/teacher it is my responsibility to discover the method of teaching that matches a child’s way of learning. I am patient, understanding and provide a constructive approach to learning. All children have the potential of learning; some simply require a different method and approach to grasp the information and it is my duty to provide such approach. I'm currently attending American Military University, with less than a year to graduate with a bachelor degree in Public Health, which allows me to have a better understanding in health science related subjects. As a mechanical engineering graduate at USF, I have taken a wide variety of classes in a wide variety of fields that have broadened my horizon. I am currently persuing my Masters degree in mechanical engineering. Students learn best from doing things. I try not to lecture, but to involve the student in the learning process. I can lecture, but I haven't found it to be as effective as other methods. I very much prefer tutoring to classroom teaching, mostly because I am helping people learn what they want to learn, and solve problems they are having troubles with. I have worked part time as an adjunct instructor since the '70s, including 22 years with the Orlando Program of Florida Southern College, and 11 years with Valencia Community College. I believe in being an active teacher helping an interactive student. Let the student be a major part of the program and I will be there to guide and correct if necessary. Teaching is keeping your participants attention by interacting with them...you can't imagine the fun they can have and still learn. While in college, I tutored students in high school in lower level math and reading. I also taught swimming to high school students. During my tenure in industry, I was able to train less experienced employees in measuring tools and their use (calipers, Mics, feeler gauges, etc,) so that they might get a better position in the company and I received accolades from the home office for my efforts.
