My most recent rewarding interaction with kids has been been the result of functioning as a mentor for the LC Bird High School robotics team. I've have been able to motivate many general students to join the “robotics geeks”. I find that all students have something valuable to add to the team if they are just approached and guided appropriately and offered respect. I can connect with each student on some level, whether it be academics, sports, science, or just humor. I have a Bachelors of Science in Chemistry from the College of William and Mary and will be returning to finish my Masters Degree at Georgetown University in January of 2011. I graduated with a 3.2 GPA from William and Mary and currently have a 3.7 GPA at Georgetown. During my time at William and Mary I worked as a tutor for Calculus, Biology and Chemistry. I enjoyed working with my fellow students to help them achieve. I have extensive experience tutoring and love helping others.
The most important skill I can teach someone is how. I believe in not only helping students to understand the material but instilling in them a joy of learning.
