A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching experience has been centered around a field of a court. Since the age of thirteen I have been helping a wide age group of kids learn to play soccer and basketball. When I was in high school I helped to volunteer at camps often running my own drills and games. Continuing into my college career I continued to teach soccer. At Augsburg College we have a camp each year for the kids from the Cedar-Riverside community. It is put on by the men's and women's Augsburg players. Though this is our biggest camp of the year, we have many more such as our President's day camp or our Memorial day camp. At each camp we devote our time to teaching kids how to head the ball, kick properly, strike, and teach them new moves while helping to perfect their old moves.

My comments on tutoring Poetry : I have already written hundreds of poem/ prose so I know how to incorporate the elements of poetry. Would have to talk to the individual to see what they wanted me to teach however to be able to tell if I would be the right teacher for the individual.

My teaching style highlights each student's strengths in the particular area in need of tutoring. By doing this, the student gains confidence in the material more and more by knowing that while they may struggle in part in a certain area, there are also multiple areas of strength to focus on to increase academic confidence.
