I have 10 years of 5th grade teaching experience, including 6 years of math, 3 years of reading, 3 years of social studies and writing, and 1 year of science. All of my teaching has been done in Title 1 public schools in bilingual classrooms and has included teaching newcomers, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd year students new to the country. When teaching math, I use many visuals, note-taking, guided practice, small group, and manipulatives to help students understand and apply concepts.
