A Little Bit About Me...

I have been tutoring and teaching since my Sophomore year in high school. At that time I was teaching English as a second language to a few foreigners who were visiting my school. Since that time, I've gone on to teach elementary level through high school children/teens in various subjects with the boys and girls clubs of america.

While I was going to college, I was employed by the University of Nebraska as a tutor for students in calculus and calculus based physics. I learned to teach students who learn by different methods and make the subjects relatable and understandable. I have a high degree of education as well as experience using the math and physics I learned in my job as a mechanical engineer.
I use strategic questions to help guide students to the right answer without giving the answer directly to them. A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy seeing expressions of accomplishment when students truly grasp various concepts. I expect and demand "excellence," recognizing that "excellence" is a term relative to the student. It seems to me that students retain information most successfully when it has been presented so as to be personally relevant, so I attempt to tailor examples to the student's background.
Most of my experience has been as an engineer. I have worked on projects in Europe, Asia, and all over North America. I got involved tutoring high school students while my sons were in high school. A Little Bit About Me...

I taught recitation for Honors Differential Equations, Differential Equations, Calculus 3, Calculus 2 and Introduction to Computer Science as an undergraduate at Georgia Tech and physics and astronomy labs as a graduate student at the University of Tennessee. I was consistently rated highly as a teacher by students.
