Graduated in 2007 from the Interpreter Prep Program at FRCC. Worked one year at the college interpreting classes. Was hired by Adams 12 Five Star Schools and worked at Legacy HS for 4 years. Now am currently working at FRCC again as well as a freelance and travel Interpreter. I work for a company that contracts out to cruise lines for services. I have worked as a special education teacher, both in and outside of the general classroom setting. My experience has been with all age groups, especially birth through 5th grade, however I have recently begun working with at-risk high school students in an online curriculum. When I graduated college I found myself wanting to help others. I began doing this by counseling youth who had substance abuse issues. For a time I also worked with the youth at a homeless shelter. Helping them with homework, ESL studies, and math skills. The youth there were a variety of ages and backgrounds, so I had to adapt my style to their needs. My education allowed me to focus on child development and the various stages of cognitive development. This helped shape my ability to help a variety of age groups based on their level of understanding.
