I earned my B.A. in English from Oglethorpe University in May 2007, and am currently completing my Master's thesis in English from Villanova University. My comments on tutoring Language Arts : I teach language arts every day as a certified teacher with DeKalb County Schools. My current position is as a Kindergarten ESOL teacher; however, I have taught upper grades as well.

I enjoy humor where appropriate and am very patient with students who need time to understand concepts that are new to them.
I have extensive experience both locally and abroad teaching ESL. I taught in Korea for two years before working at a local ESL school. Within these two positions, I taught ages 5 through adult. Learning never ceases; so, why should you?

My teaching style is a mixture of strict and lenient. I try to form a connection with students and apply that to my teaching method (i.e. incorporating a similar hobby in a question in order for the student to understand the material better). I expect my students to give me and the other students respect- never speaking while others are speaking, no disruptions, ect. This method of teaching has shown effective and a fun learning environment. I base my curriculum around the importance of reading. Reading is the easiest and most effective way of obtaining knowledge and using it in the world.
