I am currently a junior at East Tennessee State University majoring in Geography with a minor in International Affairs. I have a 3.9 GPA in college and graduated in the top 5% of my class at Science Hill High School with a 3.9 GPA. I have an extensive background in the field of social studies, having taken multiple AP and honors level social studies courses in high school and studying it in college. I am knowledgable in study skills for students of all ages having tutored several friends in high school. I also know the basics of elementary education and can tutor in that as well.

I tutored an 8th grade-9th grade boy in TCAPS preparation and helped him complete homework in Math (pre-algebra, algebra, and pre-geometry), Science (biology), and English. I tutored him for two years. After I graduated high school I was accepted to the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where I am currently in the spring semester of my sophomore year. I have worked with different levels of mental health and emotional maturity for several years. I have spent much of my spare time working within the community at youth centers, soup kitchens and veteran administration homes. I do not think that lecture or rote memorization are proper ways to educate a child. I like to accommodate to a child's personality and likes to help them to learn through distinct processes. When given the opportunity in the correct manner, children can learn most of what is put in front of them.
