I began my tutoring experience in the fall of 2009 with a program called Breakthrough Manchester. It serves underprivileged students in the area who do not have the resources to succeed. They ranged from grade 5 to 8. With Breakthrough I worked one-on-one with students as well as in a classroom setting in which I conducted my own lessons. I helped students with a variety of subjects such as science, math, social studies, geography, and even organizational skills. I have not yet become a classroom teacher. I have already applied to summer school programs throughout the state. As a coach, I feel that it is essential to inspire students/my student athletes. If you can ingite a desire to learn in students, I believe everything falls into place after that.
