My desire is not to simply communicate information to students, but to accommodate material in such a way so that each individual student can learn a way that is easy and hopefully enjoyable. A Little Bit About Me...

As an undergrad, I excelled in the arts, history and social science courses. However, I lacked interest in math (I didn't get it) and failed college algebra two times! My goal was to graduate college and I decided to seek help. I came across the tutoring center on campus and found a tutor that changed my perception about math! In brief, my tutor was out going, patient and tried various techniques to help me learn the material. I passed college algebra with an "A"! I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a minor in Physical Science from California State University, Fresno. I received my first teaching experience as a substitute teacher. I next worked as a long-term substitute teacher for a year. I was then offered a full-time, permanent teaching position as a fourth grade elementary school teacher. This position lasted three years. I will never forget the joy I received each time one of my students learned something that they had been struggling with for some time. When that proverbial light bulb came on and you could see the exact “aha” moment twinkle in their eyes, it made teaching the most rewarding career that I have known thus far.
