After graduating from Vanguard University of Southern California with my BA in English, I decided to enroll in the Education Program to receive my Single Subject English Teaching Credential. Teaching has always been a passion of mine. I started tutoring students in subjects such as Math, English, Science, History, and Spanish, when I was merely a Junior in High School. I began tutoring K-8 at a local private elementary school. I then became employed at my high school as a tutor. At my high school, I was given the opportunity to work with grades 9-12. My dominant teaching style is connecting with students on a personal level. My desire to teach stems from my hopeful view of youth. A Little Bit About Me...

I believe in using the differentiated approach to teaching--based upon the seven intelligences. I plan for all lessons being taught, and state the objectives on the board for each lesson. I present the lesson, allowing the students to interact and respond by activating prior knowledge, discussing points and inviting them to ask questions. I like to interject related activities at 20-30 minute intervals to keep their interest up. I also like to provide centering and closing activities.
