My first tutoring experience was in my freshman year of college. I tutored basic college algebra and calculus. Having earned two bachelor degrees in both math and physics. I feel I have a good understanding of not only the theory but also the applications of math to science. Tutoring both privately and publicly has also increased my speaking and presentation abilities. I have also tutored test taking strategies for the SAT, ACT, and GRE. In my years tutoring I have tutored middle school through graduate level courses. As a young child I was diagnosed with dyslexia. I have worked hard to to get my degree and have overcome many challenges. I know that it is possible for all the achieve their goals if they are given the opportunity to be taught in ways which they best learn. I personally had to discover my own learning style. I believe I can be a good teacher as I have the necessary background and the experience. The fact that I like sharing knowledge would only add to my interest in a teaching opportunity. If I have a choice, I would prefer one-on-one type tutoring classes to group courses. My style of teaching is pretty basic. I think that a good educator is the key to success in a child's life. I can still remember my second grade teacher (Ms. Golf), she made learning fun and seemed like everyday was an adventure in her class. Sadly, not all teachers are like that. I do believe that all children learn in different ways. I think that if a child is given a chance and shown some patience, there isn't anything they can't acheive.
