Learning is a lifelong process!

My very first year of teaching was at the Lehigh Valley Performing Arts High School, and I also taught for two years at Northern Lehigh High School. Currently, I am resigned and staying home, but looking to work part time. I have experience teaching grades 7-12 and working with all types of students. The classes I've taught range from Honors English to a class which targeted students struggling to gain proficiency in English related PSSA skills.
Every student is unique and benefits from an individualized instruction. My style is business casual; I am firm yet warm and encouraging with students.

I believe that everyone is teachable, if the student has the desire and the teacher has the commitment. I tend to be a patient teacher, with high standards. I actively question the student, which allows me to challenge the student in my presence, where I am able to guide him/her. While I have predominantly tutored college students, I have also taught adults and children. When teaching or tutoring a student I have found that there are several factors in how it should be approached. The most important of the factors are the subject matter and the students learning style. The learning style of the student has to be considered when teaching. Helping a student learn requires finding the most effective method. You want to make sure they understand the subject matter while exposing them to other possible ways to approach difficult problems. You can provide tools not only for the problems they are having but preparing them to handle future difficulties.
