My comments on tutoring Reading : I love to read and to me reading is "FUNDAMENTAL!"

My teaching style varies according to the student. I am able to adjust to the needs of the person or person I am tutoring.
I have 11 years of experience as a Paraprofessional on the secondary level. I work with children that have all kinds of learning disabilities and mild behavior problems. I have great skills in managing small groups of students and can carry out any accomodations on an IEP. I am fair, fun, but firm. Which means I want to make sure that you understand the lesson well and that you are capable of doing work like this whenever the need arises.

Graduated from Staunton School of Cosmetology, Staunton, Va. 1980. Have had my own cosmetology business from then to the present. Southside Community College, massage therapy, included anatomy and physiology, 2013. Studied business and teaching, at VCU, 1971-72, did not complete degree program.
Relaxed, personal, but concentrate on learning, making progress at student's pace and level of achievement. I will try to make learning fun and interesting.

Teaching to me is a vocation and not just a job. I enjoy helping children achieve their peek potential in the subject matter at hand. My teaching experience is mostly in private school settings and I taught public school for a year. I am currently waiting to be certified in Spanish in Virginia and will be taking the courses necessary to become a certified teacher in the near future.
