I am a very adaptable teacher--I can easily pick up on a student's needs and abilities, and work to their strengths in that way. A Little Bit About Me...

I began teaching at a very young age. I began my own music lesson company which taught basic level of piano, guitar, saxophone and voice lessons out of my house before I began high school. After achieving my certificate of proficiency in Spanish from Hamline I then began to also privately tutor Spanish. I also have earned my TEFL/TESOL certificate and will eventually go abroad and teach English overseas.
I have worked mainly with children, but enjoy teaching all ages. I tend to take a systematic approach and keep my lessons structured. I like to have students keep some sort of record of their practice time, as well as their progress. I have participated in several tutoring training seminars that have taught me various methods of teaching. First of all, students learn differently and it is important to accommodate to those differences. Therefore, I have learned that teaching involves more than just speaking one on one about the material. Teaching includes pictures, real world examples, hand gestures, mouth positions for learning new languages, etc. Today, children tend to look at learning in a scattered form that makes learning frustrating and often undoable.
